Pre-Kindergarten in BCSD

2024 - 2025 Pre-K Information:

The Pre-K Lottery is now closed.  All confirmed applicants should have received an email with your lottery number from prekregistration@bcsdny.org.  If you did not provide an email in your application, you should have received a text or phone call with this information.  We will now begin the process of calling families, beginning with lottery spot number #1 and working our way down the list, to have each family choose their pre-K location.  We will proceed until all slots are filled.  This process will take several weeks to complete.  Once all slots are filled, we will communicate with families who did not get a spot and let them know their number on the waitlist. Families on the waitlist will be contacted to fill spots as they become available.

2024-2025 BCSD Pre-Kindergarten Program: The Bedford Central School District (BCSD) will be offering a full-day, tuition-free Pre-K program for eligible 4-year-old children for the 2024-25 school year, pending grant funding. This program is being funded through Pre-K grant funds awarded to BCSD by the New York State Education Department and is contingent upon budget approval and continued availability of NYS grant funding.

Age and Residency Requirements: To apply, students must reside within the BCSD attendance area and must be 4-years-old on or before December 1, 2024. Students who are age-eligible for Kindergarten cannot apply for the Pre-K lottery as per NYSED regulations. One entry per eligible child is allowed. For twins/multiples, complete ONLY ONE application and include both/all names. 

Locations and Total Number of Spots: There are a total of 46 slots for Pre-K students available in the BCSD lottery. 

• Bedford Hills Elementary School: 18 slots
• Mount Kisco Elementary School: 18 slots
• Boys and Girls Club in Mount Kisco: 6 slots
• Country Childrens Center in Bedford Hills: 4 slots

Transportation: Transportation will NOT be provided.

The Pre-Kindergarten lottery application process will occur between January 4-January 19, 2024. A link to the lottery application will be available on our District website beginning on January 4, 2024. The lottery will take place on February 8, 2024.
