BCSD Summer Learning
Summer is a time for renewal, soaking in the warm sun, splashing in pools and sprinklers, and staying out until the sun goes down at night. Don't forget that summer is also a time to continue learning in new and different ways! Whether you learn to ride a bike, speak a new language, or learn to swim, the summer is filled with new learning opportunities everyday! Keeping the mind engaged is critically important to continued academic success!
In addition, reading familiar books, reading stories aloud as a family, developing vocabulary, and writing letters to family and friends during the summer are valuable ways to keep literacy skills fresh and ready for the new school year. Make literacy and learning a natural part of your daily summer routine.
